| Mutual Aid to Perth VFD- Structure Fire on Cty Hwy 132 |
Mon. Jan 11th 2010
On Monday January 11th at 9:40am, The Hagaman Fire Department was requested to respond to a Structure Fire on County Highway 132 in the Town of Perth. Perth command requested a "Full House Roll" from Hagaman which is a complete station response to the scene. Engine 5, Tanker 7, Rescue 4 and Engine 3 responded with 16 firefighters. Upon arrival, our crews worked hand in hand with the members of Perth and Broadalbin FD's to control the fire. The old construction of the residence proved to be difficult to tackle. It took nearly 2 hours to get the fire under complete control. Additionally crews were on scene hitting hot spots and performing overhaul of the residence. Luckily, no one was injured in the fire and all the occupants were out on arrival. Additional crews from the Galway FD were called to the scene by Perth command to assist. Hagaman Fire Police units were used to control intersections in the area as well. While operating at the structure fire, Cranesville FD relocated one engine and manpower to standby at our station. Also, Fort Johnson was on standby in their station for coverage. All Hagaman units were cleared by Perth at 12:46pm and back in service at 1:42pm. 23 members responded.
